Sons and Daughters of God Wear the Mark of Humility
The verses below are the words of Jesus. Christ’s statements of true humility are convicting and the way we are to live, in complete dependency on the Father; This was the motivation of His life. If the Son of God in all his glory did nothing apart from the Father and regarded himself as completely dependent upon the Father, we must ask ourselves how much are we, as sons and daughters of God, truly surrendered and dependent upon Him?
The humility of Christ should be the chief marker on us, as His children. Oh that night and day our hearts would cry out, “humility of Christ be in me and all around me.”
John 5:19
“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”
John 5:30 NASB
“I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”
John 8:28-29 NASB
“So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”
