God, the Author of Creation
The English word ”authority” is derived from the root word “author”.
The implication here is that whatever is authored (created, spoken , written, etc,,) by someone, they have authority over it.
God is the author of creation, therefore He has complete authority over it. This truth also enlarges our understanding of faith. The Bible says that Jesus is the “Author and Perfector (Finisher)” of our faith. This means that faith, which comes from God, carries His authority to complete His work in you, through you, and around you.
Wherever you are at in this moment, it’s time to set your gaze on Jesus and ask the Lord for an increase of faith in Him. He will answer that prayer and lift up your head, strengthen your hands and knees, renew your strength, and cause you to rise up and dispossess the enemy of the land of your inheritance!
Lord, we ask for more!
Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
