The Spirit of Humility
The Spirit of humility opens our eyes to see what we had not seen before. Revelation is given to those who are humble before the Lord.
Humility does not look like weakness or even quietness. Humility looks like lordship. It means we take orders from the Spirit of God, not from our own selves. Walking in humility means we are fully surrendered to His will, so much so that it becomes our own.
Walking in humility means that we are willing to wait on the Lord until He comes, speaks or moves. Ultimately when we walk in humility we recognize our need for God.
Humility sets us in God’s throne room, at his feet listening and waiting for Him to reveal himself and his ways. It is only in this place that we come into the benefits of truly being in Him and him being in us.
Philippians 2:5-11 NASB
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
James 4:6 NASB
“But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”
1 Peter 5:6-7 NASB
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
