Where Is Your Gaze Fixed?
Many believers have made their promises from God their focus instead of God. We become what we behold, what we meditate and fix our gaze on. If you are only focusing on the promise, you can only become the potential of an outcome. When a pole vaulter is running, their eyes are not fixed on the bar they are trying to clear and no longer are gauging the height, their gaze is fixed solely on the box that they have to plant their pole in, in order to get the leverage necessary to accelerate higher than the bar. In the same way, we cannot afford to exalt the promises of God above Christ himself.
Promises can easily become an idol, an idol that we put all our energy into in order to see an outcome. We, in of ourselves carry finite energy, not eternal energy, so when we take it upon ourselves to accomplish an eternal thing without the eternal source that is the Lord, we will fail. However, when we plant our promises from Christ directly into Christ, in Him everything becomes yes and amen! It’s time to plant our promises back into the Rock and get moving forward. For it is only in Him and by Him they will come to pass!
Today I hear the Lord saying,
“Beloved, I haven’t forgotten you. I see you. I know your heart and have heard your cry. Come walk with me in the garden of hope. Place all your cares and burdens on me, place all your promises, hopes, and dreams in Me. Come deep into me, deep into my heart. Receive my healing love and a fresh measure of my joy. I know the plans that I have for you, I remember the promises I have spoken over you and I will bring them to pass at the appointed time.”
“Come drink of My living water, be refreshed and rest in Me. My word will accomplish what I have sent it to do. Trust in me. Give your heart fully to Me releasing all fear and doubt. Set your eyes on Me, and allow Me to fill in those deep places with My peace and presence. Come abide in me and be renewed in your heart and mind. See how I see, step into me, knowing that it is My delight to take you to new heights and new places.”
We say “yes”, Lord! We set our gaze and our hope on you, the Author and Finsher of our faith!
